When we brought our daughter home for school after a disastrous 3rd-grade year in public school, my frustration and fear kept me wondering if I could get it together and be a great teacher for my children - and still be Mom at the end of the day.

After over 27 years of teaching our children from kindergarten through high school graduation and the college application process, I've learned a thing or two.
